Daniel Farke said the togetherness and spirit of his squad was key to winning promotion to the Premier League this season.

The City Boss spoke to canaries.co.uk following Norwich’s 2-1 win over Blackburn last night, which secured automatic promotion for the Club in front of 27,000 fans at Carrow Road.

He said: “It feels surreal. We are all unbelievably proud and it’s a fantastic feeling and really world class.

“This commitment, this desire, this togetherness and this spirit is outstanding and in the game we should have won 9-0 or something like that. They had one shot on our goal and we created so many chances. There was also a scene with a red card and a handball so again it went against us in crucial moments, but the lads were unstoppable and were there with a really good performance.

“It’s well deserved that we have this romantic finish in front of our home fans in the last home game of the season and it’s a great feeling.

“It’s a bit surreal because we had all the lads together and also the lads who were not involved in the game were here to celebrate with us. It’s the perfect set-up for the finishing game and we are all unbelievably happy. This Club and these lads deserve such a romantic finish.”

The Head Coach previously said the target for this season was to beat last year's 14th place finish, and said that their success was all down to the hard work of the players and the vision at the Club.

“When you work in football you are always unbelievable greedy to create something extraordinary and sometimes you have to dream and think big,” Farke said.

“Of course we were convinced of our way but if you are realistic you have to say we are perhaps three or four years ahead of schedule. But sometimes when you stick together and you are there with unbelievable spirit and really hard work then you can achieve extraordinary things and that’s what we did during this season.

“All credit goes to our key people, our Board, Delia and Michael and our Sporting Director Stuart Webber because they are responsible for wanting the Club to go in this direction and they are our leading people. On behalf of all the lads I want to say thank you to them.

“We were so desperate, for the whole Club, the staff members, for the players, the whole city, the region and the community to give them the pride back this season and I think that’s exactly what we did.”

Norwich's final game of the season will see them travel to Aston Villa on Sunday, May 5, but Farke said it’s important to enjoy the moment right now.

“We can forget about this one game for now, in the next two or three days we will just celebrate and enjoy it," he said. "It’s not about staying disciplined right now it’s about going crazy and that’s definitely what we want to do.

“In the middle of next week you can ask me again for the next game, but today we are just unbelievably proud. In the middle of the week we start again to work for the Aston Villa game and of course we want to finish in style, but the most important thing is that we are promoted.”
